Everything on this site exists for one reason: to help you drink better Chinese tea, without a sales pitch.
Chinese Tea Guide was built by tea enthusiasts who were tired of three kinds of search results: Wikipedia-level overviews (authoritative but impersonal), commerce sites trying to sell their inventory, and shallow listicles that describe a tea in one sentence.
We wanted the guide we couldn't find: exact brewing temperatures per tea, realistic price ranges, quality checks you can actually perform at home, and the scams to watch for — written by people who buy the tea themselves at market prices.
We've sampled 200+ Chinese teas across five tea-producing provinces, consulted with tea masters, and brewed every single tea on this site blind, multiple ways. Every recommendation comes from direct experience.
